Phew! We managed to safely move back to Texas from Danville, VA over the July 4th weekend – what an ordeal! Was it this hot down here when I lived here before!?! A year in the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills totally ruined me.
I drove the Kia towing a load and Rick drove the 17′ U-haul we rented for the job. 1200+ miles and everyone is here ion one piece – including our crabby old tabby – and I do mean old – 17 in human years. Rick is so tired from all the lifting and storing he is having crazy accidents – he nearly gave himself a lobotomy with a tomato cage in the garage and has countless bruises and scrapes all over – but the scalp piercing is the most severe. I teased him mercilessly that he is lucky to have such a thick skull and if it doesn’t heal – I might just have to call him bonehead – endearingly of course
My poor honey. He is really the most wonderful man – he works super hard and puts up with my silliness too.
We got here only to discover there had been a really bad hail storm – those are common in Texas – so we are getting a new roof, a new window in the sun room and a new AC condenser – that should help sell the house for us!!
Moving is a nightmare!
